Grimsby 1-1 Argyle

So close! Argyle’s draw was enough to finish above Doncaster, but not enough to pip Portsmouth, who clinched the League Two title on goal difference.

The Pilgrims got off to an awful start when Shaun Pearson opened the scoring for Grimsby in the very first minute.

Jimmy Spencer equalised in the 61st minute, but Argyle could not find the winner that would have seen them crowned champions.
